This role is for Asset and Wealth management line of business within their core data team. The role covers working within the data team to build and support their enterprise data distribution platform called EDPi.

 

Key Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively within EDPi team to design, engineer, deliver and support high quality technology solutions to address the requirements, leveraging strategic technology solutions such as Hadoop, Spark and NoSQL databases
  • Strong knowledge Data Warehousing concepts, production systems and workflows
  • Familiar with data models and understands the concepts of logical and physical data models
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM
  • Familiar with development tools such as SVN/Jira, etc.
  • Perform end-to-end software development life cycle functions including Architecture, Design, Development, Application Industrialization, Performance Analysis & Tuning, Optimization, Testing and Product Maintenance
  • The role is consumer facing and will involve working with application development teams that are looking to consumer data from EDPi
  • Alongside the development role the individual will need to work with application teams to help them understand EDPi application architecture, support query optimization out of EDPi and help teams to trouble shoot issues
  • The individual will also be expected to support the application in production in a DevOps capacity
  • Out of box thinking and a passion for great product design

Qualification

  • The individual must have 5+ years of diversified experience developing applications using java, relational and nosql databases
  • Experience with data processing and analysis, preferably on big data
  • Experience with agile and test driven development methodologies required
  • Familiarity with Hadoop and Spark highly desired
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of principles and concepts of Big Data processing and analytics highly desired
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of Asset and wealth management system and data models, familiarity with vendor data such as Morning star, Bloomberg etc. will be a plus

 

Basic Qualifications/skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science preferable
  • Minimum 3+ years of working with Production systems
