The objective of the JPMorgan Chase Investor Relations (IR) department is to provide clear and concise information to the buy-side and sell-side analyst community to assist them in making investment decisions.  Members of the IR team speak regularly with this community discussing the firm's business model, long-term strategy & targets, financial performance and environmental, social & governance matters.  The team also communicates messages from the investor community to the Firm's senior management.  The IR team arranges and facilitates events with the investor community including senior management meetings, conferences and the Firm's Annual Investor Day.  The group partners with the Finance organization and line of business teams, to prepare key external disclosures, including the quarterly earnings release and presentation, and conference and Investor Day presentations.

 
Key responsibilities:
  • Assist in the creation of the quarterly earnings materials, including but not limited to the presentation, press release and Q&A materials, as well as conference presentations and various projects
  • Participate in meetings and calls with senior IR team members and the institutional investor and sell-side analyst community to discuss the Firm's financial performance and strategy
  • Review sell-side analyst models and research reports to analyze and summarize sell-side forecasts of JPMorgan’s performance for senior management
  • Be responsible for taking the lead on ad-hoc analysis and creating presentations to be used for discussions with Senior Management and external parties
  • Frequent interactions with other corporate areas as well as line of business teams will enable the candidate to build an expansive network across the Firm

The Associate will be an integral member of the Investor Relations team. The work requires a good understanding of financial statements, key business drivers and corporate finance, including valuation.  The candidate will need to be mature and able to handle significant day-to-day exposure to our firm’s Senior Management.  Also, given tight deadlines and multiple assignments, the candidate will need to be a self-starter and be able to handle multiple requests.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Economics 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of full-time work experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Research, Strategy or Consulting experience strongly preferred
  • MBA and/or CFA preferred but not required
  • Project management skills/multi-tasking (e.g., balancing workload between short-term and longer-term projects)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Advanced Powerpoint/Pitch Pro and Excel skills required
  • Strong analytical, creative thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong work ethic; work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively with Senior Management
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Comfortable with ambiguity – ability to take the lead without explicit instructions
  • Ability to develop, synthesize and present perspectives on key strategic/financial issues
  • Experience with modeling, client work and product analysis
  • Team player
