Duties: Understand storage requirements for complex needs, including high performance or sustainability for shared infrastructure. Provide key guidance regarding technical architecture, innovation, and enhancement of infrastructure. Assess, design, and implement a plan with the engineering team for transition processes. Assist backup capacity planning with infrastructure assessments for expandability. Provide oversight of large scale defects identified in backup service in terms of identification, creation, and remediation plans. Provide Level 3 Continuous Improvement (CIE) Engineering Management Support for distributed backup technologies. Manage the Infrastructure Core Services (ICS) Backup service end to end. Act as the single point of accountability for of service strategy for ICS. Managing the overall financials of Service P&L and maintaining Service catalog, along with defining and tracking the cost models with regards to service cost and recovery. Leverage best practices in improving all service functions. Define the vision, roadmap and datacenter strategy for the Backup Service. Manage the prioritization of all deliverables from introduction of new products to service delivery. Provide recommended solutions to storage issues of the business line. Guide operations prior to going live. Work closely with partner vendors to ensure service level agreements are consistently delivered and components of the contractual agreement for operations support are kept current.

Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a 3-year or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or seven (7) years of experience as a Storage Operations Specialist, Senior Tech Support Engineer, Application Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires seven (7) years of experience with SAN and NAS technologies including SAN Arrays, Fiber Channel switches, NAS Isilon, and Netapp filers. This position requires five (5) years of experience with large enterprise systems and storage (100 PB or more); large technology P&L ($50MM or more); EMC Data Domain, Veritas NetBackup, Aptare, and Tape Libraries Technologies.
