We are heading into a new era of software engineering where principles that many of us had assumed as the norm, are no longer relevant. The onset of instantaneous infrastructure provisioning, elastic scalability, increased cyber threats and defense capabilities, true continuous integration and deployment have changed the landscape completely. These changes have also seen the emergence of micro-services as a viable model for software design and development. This opens up great opportunities for the firm in terms of increased: agility; resiliency; re-use and infrastructure efficiency to name but a few. However, these benefits will only be achieved through a thoughtful approach towards design.

DNA is a strategic set of technologies and supporting processes that look to solve the challenge of how we capture, maintain and leverage Data Lineage across JPMC. The goal of understanding how data is used and moves throughout the enterprise represents an exciting technical challenge and the opportunity to work alongside world class thought leaders and change managers in the data management and architecture organizations.
Domain Driven Design
Domain driven design aims to help development teams’ deal with complexity at the heart of their projects, the domain itself and associated domain logic on the basis that that complex domain designs should be based on a model. We appreciate this this model needs to pervade every medium of communication; we aim to provide solutions for development teams maintain APIs that reflect this domain model through the balanced use of automated model testing, for example BDD and the appropriate automatic generation of physical interfaces.
