Job Description:
The Business Analyst role is responsible for supporting management and completion of projects, assignments and tasks within Mortgage Banking (Originations).  This position supports cross Line of Business (LOB) initiatives and interfaces with multiple support groups within the MIS and Reporting teams.  As a member of this team you will be highly integrated with our operations management team and will focus on development of reporting and analytics that provide insight and guidance for managing the daily and intraday tactical components of the operations process.  Reporting and analytics will include but are not limited to process performance / productivity, pipeline movement & efficiency analysis.
Key responsibilities to successfully support the overall objectives of this position include:
  • Conceptualization of thoughtful, efficient summary and detail reporting that will add value to line level,  management and executive business partners
  • Collects and analyzes complex data for reporting and /or performance (trend) analysis
  • Recognizing and communicating meaningful trends/patterns in data and reporting to our clients
  • Interface face with, and gather information from, other areas of the business (Operations, IT, Finance and Marketing)
  • Identifying and validating data sources
  • Extracting data from various sources using SQL

Qualified candidates will be critical thinkers who are highly analytical and thrive in a fast paced competitive environment.  Candidates will also need to have a proven track record of successfully working with various levels of management on a daily basis and display examples of successful relationship building.  Prior management experience within Mortgage Operations or a comparable business setting is recommended but not a requirement for the most highly qualified candidates.

Qualifications:

  • Experience providing business analytics and reporting using SQL (query/procedure writing) required

  • 3+ years’ experience working in a business / financial / risk analyst or similar role

  • Proven track record of critical and analytical thinking

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • SSRS experience a plus

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities and projects

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written presentations

  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations

  • Experience in Mortgage Banking preferred but not required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, MIS or related field preferred
