JPMorgan - Equity Specialty Sales (Sector Specialist)


  • Partnering with the trading team to cover Institutional Clients. Prior buy-side analyst/PM level relationships are a positive but not a requirement.
  • The team is responsible for aggregating, synthesizing, and analyzing market information, whether it be corporate news (earnings, mergers, etc), “macro” data (economic numbers, regulatory developments, etc), and unusual price movements (sharp movements in certain stocks, sectors, currencies).
  • The candidate should produce several written investment updates throughout the day and team members are required to have strong reading/writing skills. 
  • JPMorgan as a firm produces a substantial amount of research across multiple geographies and sectors – the candidate will be responsible for being aware of everything being published within their sector and tying it in as best as possible to current market events. 
  • Team members will be responsible for not only aggregating and summarizing JPM research, but also for identifying and elevating conviction calls..
  • Team members will be responsible for fielding questions throughout the day from internal co-workers (traders, salespeople, analysts) as well as external clients.  As a result, strong intrapersonal skills are required. 
  • Hours – MI team members are expected to put out their sector morning summary no later than 6:30 am and will stay on average until 4:30-5pm (some days will require later departures). 
  • 3+ years of experience in a fundamentally driven sector specific role are required (banking, research, specialty sales, etc)
  • Candidates must possess strong entrepreneurial, analytical, quantitative, communication, business writing and client-relations skills.
  • Candidates must be adaptable and have the ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment.
  • Candidates should be able to work independently, producing accurate, detailed materials while meeting tight deadlines
