Job Description:

Global Finance & Business Management (GF&BM) is seeking a Business Manager at an Associate / Vice President level based in New York to support the Firmwide Controllers team of JPMorgan Chase & Co.   

The Firmwide Controllers organization is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity and validity of the financial statements and controls over the transaction cycle.  The group performs critical reporting and controls functions for the organization, including legal entity, financial and regulatory, as well as product valuation.  The team is also responsible for improving ongoing processes, and ensuring execution and implementation of the overall financial architecture.

The role reports to the Firmwide Controller Business Manager, who is based in New York, and will involve working closely with the rest of the global Firmwide Controllers Business Management (“BM”) team as well as support for the Firmwide Controller Management team. 

Main aspects of the role:

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to the Firmwide Controller and Firmwide Controller Business Manager
  • Partners with Firmwide Controller Business Management Team
  • Supports and coordinates initiatives for the Firmwide Controller Management team
  • Provides thought leadership on key priorities for the BM team
  • Proactively drives strategic change management and issue resolution; positively and creatively influences change
  • Identifies and implements process improvements
  • Encourages efficiency and automation
  • Promotes a control environment - identify, escalate, and mitigate risks and control gaps

Product & Technical Knowledge:

  • High proficiency and advanced use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel & PowerPoint in particular)
  • High proficiency in Pitch Pro
  • Accounting / controller background beneficial, but not required
  • Business Management or Program / Project Management experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred
