General Summary:  

   

The Internal Sales Manager for the Independent Broker Dealer (IBD) Channel will be responsible for hiring and developing outstanding Internal Client Advisors that drive and support business opportunities for JP Morgan Asset Management.  Additionally, this individual will work closely with the entire IBD Management team to promote business strategies across the channel and to facilitate their implementation through the Internal Client Advisor team. 

 

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Hiring and training of new and existing Internal Client Advisors to ensure core competencies and continual professional growth. 
  • Identify and groom qualified Internal Client Advisor Associates for external Client Advisor responsibilities or other opportunities that across the Firm.
  • Ensure all team members fully understand and are executing on channel goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate the quality of the ICAs by monitoring outbound calls on a regular basis and providing regular coaching to enhance skills and territory management abilities.
  • Work cohesively with sales management to make sure sales goals are achieved through ongoing guidance and support.
  • Facilitate a dynamic sales environment and maintain high levels of motivation among staff
  • Promote organizational skills that enable the team to be more efficient and effective throughout the day. 
  • Maintain systematic controls aimed at ensuring effective quantity and quality of sales discussions with investment consultants.
  • Assist in the management effort to ensure effective communication among Client Advisors and Internal Client Advisors aimed at facilitating coordinated sales efforts and cohesive strategies.
  • Support the development of sales skills among the ICA staff and ensure ongoing enhancement of their industry and product knowledge through weekly meetings and conferences.
  • Work with support staff to develop and maintain effective sales reporting for all products.
  • Lead department research requests and provide solutions and follow up where appropriate.
  • Work with Centers of Influences at client firms to advance the sales process from strategic initiatives.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in the securities industry, history of sales management experience strongly preferred.
  • NASD Series 7, 24, and 66, or 63 and 65
  • Related undergraduate degree required
  • Demonstrated abilities in coaching a sales organization and accomplishment of sales goals
  • Extensive knowledge of financial markets and the securities traded in those markets, as well as, quickly assess market trends and identify educational opportunities for the team   
  • Solid organization, communication, and time management skills. 
  • Outstanding energy, focus, and drive to achieve results.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and sales skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively and build strong partnerships at all levels of organization
  • Solutions driven, ability to effectively execute under pressure within a fast-paced environment; extremely adaptable to ever changing business demands and expectations
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including critical thinking and change management
  • Strong presentation skills to participate in weekly management calls with IBD Channel management
  • Excellent analytical & problem solving skills
