The JPMorgan Chase Audit Department is accountable to the Audit and Examining Committee of the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, senior management and our global and local regulators.  The global Audit Department has in excess of 1,000 Audit Officers.  
Within the Audit Department, the EMEA Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) Audit team is responsible for assessing the adequacy of the control environment across the AWM businesses in EMEA. This is achieved through a program of audit coverage performed and managed by a team of integrated business, technology and corporate sector specialists and coordinated on a global basis with colleagues in the US and Asia.

Position Description:
 
We are looking for a Geneva-based Auditor in the WM EMEA Audit team with a strong audit, assurance or controls background at a private bank or financial institution, in particular, with experience reviewing fiduciary or operations activities. The WM Associate position is based in Geneva and responsible for audit coverage of the EMEA Wealth Management business reporting directly to the team lead. The role focuses predominantly on Wealth Management businesses in Switzerland & EMEA; however, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in audits covering other areas of the AWM business (for example, the Asset Management), where opportunities arise.
 
As an auditor on the WM EMEA team, you will gain an understanding of the key risks facing the business and the controls designed to mitigate those risks.  You will then participate to test the effectiveness of those controls, execute that test program, and document the results in Audit's work paper database.  You will also be asked to help communicate audit findings to management. Depending on experience, this role will include the opportunity on occasion to manage audits and staff, interacting with senior management and executing planning, fieldwork and reporting. This role provides an opportunity to gain an understanding of the WM business and work with the stakeholders to improve the control environment and implement operational efficiencies.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Work closely audit team colleagues to ensure that key risks are identified and assessed in the program of audit coverage.
  • Lead and participate in audit projects from planning to reporting with supervision and deliver a quality product in line with department standards and expectations.
  • Identify risks, evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls; finalize audit findings and use judgment to provide an overall opinion on the control environment; and document audit results and communicate issues to management, identifying opportunities for improvement in the design and effectiveness of key controls.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify trends and build and maintain key relationships with stakeholders, establishing a culture of engagement while adding value.
  • Effectively manage audit engagement teams, performing timely review and providing honest and constructive feedback.
  • Stay up to date with the global and regional regulatory and market environment, especially as it pertains to Wealth Management.
  • The position may require up to 20% travel.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent (preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline).
  • Relevant financial services industry experience, preferably within Audit or risk and control functions.
  • Knowledge or previous experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: private banking, fiduciary investment and administration and/or knowledge of products and services provided within Asset & Wealth Management business.
  • Professional accountancy qualification and/or other professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIA, CISA) are a plus.
  • Excellent communication (i.e., verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management and influence change.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and banking regulatory requirements in Switzerland (FINMA) preferred.
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, desire to learn quickly, be flexible and think strategically.
  • Proven ability to be able to multi task and be able to change priorities.
  • Works well individually, and in teams, shares information, supports colleagues and encourages participation.
  • Strong skills in time management, problem solving, written and oral communication.
  • Strong analytical skills particularly in regard to assessing the probability and impact of an internal control weakness.
