As a member of the Application Support team, you'll play a big part in designing the platforms, servers, and networks make it possible for us to provide service to our customers, clients, and businesses around the globe each and every day.  In this role you’ll call on your experience designing tailored solutions to understand the requirements of a project, test the performance of the infrastructure, and verify that the requirements have been successfully met.  As a team, you and your peers will be responsible for driving results, collecting and analyzing monitoring data in test and production, and managing projects to completion.  And while you will be part of a tight-knit team of engineers who shares your passion for technology, you’ll also gain access the best minds in the business—both as part of the JPMorgan Chase & Co. global technology community, and through our partnerships with some of the most important tech firms in the world


This team is looking for an Application Support Analyst to support the technology portfolio of Global Business & Document Services (GBDS) operations. Our team supports a mixture of projects and technology that is primarily third party solutions, hosted internally and in some cases, externally. Our projects are focused on vendor solution integration, data security, access controls and general IT risk mitigation.


In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring efficient and secured processing of GBDS applications
  • Take responsibility and ownership for the applications and its long term success
  • Be effective at documenting and communicating technical information to improve team processes
  • Escalate to outside groups and vendor partners on issues and process
  • Establish strong technical working relationships with the wider GTI and LOB teams’ e.g.SA and DBA support colleagues in global locations.
  • Interact with technology vendors, tech peers, and business partners on a regular basis.
  • Day-to-day maintenance of the application systems in operation, including tasks related to identifying and troubleshooting application issues and issues resolution or escalation.
  • Root cause analysis, management communication and client relationship management in partnership with Infrastructure Service Support team members
  • Ensures all production changes are made in accordance with lifecycle methodology and risk guidelines
  • Information Security Management
  • Taking leadership in owning issue resolution and driving them to completion.
  • Support Production Releases off of normal business hours
  • Ensuring that incident, problem, and change management processes and procedures are followed and adhered to standards.
  • Communicating to end users, engineers, and operations
  • Work with the vendor on support cases to seek out and test resolutions.
  • Creation of appropriate technical documentation
  • Active involvement in resolving the issues encountered in all environments, including production.

Required Skills:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ Years of application support experience
  • 2+ Years of supporting vendor tech solutions
  • Strong monitoring, analytical and escalation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, be able to communicate effectively and work closely together with business clients, other technology teams, support partners and stakeholders to deliver and support business aligned solutions
  • Expertise with running and analyzing queries on SQL Server 2008 and above
  • Experience working with Linux, Apache\Tomcat, Windows and IIS environment configurations.
  • Digital certificate life-cycle and installation
  • Experience collaborating with business representatives to understand requirements, value, prioritization and acceptance criteria
  • Experience in the support and implementation of technology processes and products
  • Strong debugging and trouble shooting skills
  • Experience in supporting externally hosted applications.
  • Expertise in incident and problem management procedures

  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment. Comfortable in a fast dynamic environment with an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • This position should typically be used for an advanced or lead level resource.
