Custody and Fund Services provides middle office, custody, accounting and administration services for fund managers, including mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity, real estate funds, pension funds and fund of funds.
 
Job Description
 
The successful candidate will join the EMEA Legal Entity Custody Oversight Team within Custody & Fund Services, based in Luxembourg and will have responsibility for the provision of oversight of the custody arrangements for J.P Morgan Bank Luxembourg. In the role of Legal Entity Custody Oversight Officer/Manager, key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Oversight of Custody services performed for JPMBL including review of Daily Health Check items and other metrics and KPIs , ensuring adequate contingency planning and testing , crisis playbook arrangements appropriate for the entity .
  • Ensuring robust design and continuous update  of the governance framework to meet regulatory demands and the changing product.
  • Preparation of materials and/or presentation to the locational operational risk committee ( LORCC ) with regard to oversight carried out and appropriate escalation through local control functions .
  • Maintenance of oversight of the sub custodian network and contractual arrangements with sub custodians including being able to represent these locally.
  • Close co-operation  with Custody Product in-location in assisting with preparation of answers to regulator requests regarding network or sub-custody arrangements.
  • Collaborate extensively with the Depositary Bank function to ensure best practice across the region in oversight practice.  
  • Ensure custody arrangements are adapted appropriately in line with regulatory changes particularly within local branch jurisdictions.
  • Produce and ensure adequate delivery of confirmations or attestations made by JPMBL for clients .
  • Represent the entity in projects relating to the provision of custody services
 
 The role reports functionally into the EMEA Legal entity custody oversight team.
Qualifications
  • Sound understanding of the Custody & Fund Services business and Custody product features
  • Good knowledge of the components of custody operations and market specifics  
  • Experience in a control function or working closely with control functions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present at senior level
  • Experience working across multiple business areas and/or functions to deliver results
  • Analytical skills, and proven problem solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast paced environment
