The JP Morgan Chase Digital API/Microservices group supports exposing APIs to our external partners. We work closely with the chase Consumer Banking line of business to expose APIs that are intuitive, dependable, and easy to use for our partners. We are seeking passionate result-oriented technologists to drive better, faster, simpler solutions.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Interact with product owners, business analysts and other tech analysts across teams to accurately define stories and associated outcomes within the context of the API domain managed by the scrum team.
  • Function as effective technical product owner - driving creation, prioritization and acceptance of technical user stories while continuing to work with business product owners on feature/function stories and their prioritization.
  • Facilitate backlog grooming of user stories within scrum teams and ensure business rules, business outcomes etc. are accurately represented.
  • Interfacing with members of your scrum team, Digital and line of business product teams, business analysts from other teams to deliver effective API/micro-services for internal and external consumption
  • Working with scrum team to test and certify applications before they are deployed to production
  • Analyzing existing code base to reverse engineer current implementation, writing functional/technical stories, producing interface specifications and testing related to the web services/APIs/middleware components of Digital initiatives
  • Working with external vendors including fintechs on incorporating their offerings into core Chase.com features or incorporating our APIs into their sites
  • Producing evergreen documentation on the web services/API stack and supporting audit and research activities into site usage
Required Skills:
  • 5+ years’ experience as a product manager/technical analyst in the financial industry
  • A functional understanding of retail banking and/or investment domains
  • The ability to work with product, business and application teams to write technical user stories for an API/services team
  • Ability to work effectively within an Agile Scrum team and to drive technical user story creation and acceptance while working with business managers on functional user stories
  • The ability to read Java code to understand existing system behavior
  • Experience running web services using tools like Soap UI, XML Spy, CA-LISA
  • Experience testing web services to see if they meet acceptance criteria defined by user stories
  • Experience working with XML, JSON message formats
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Strong SQL skills to analyze existing data and identify gaps/data quality issues
  • Experience writing technical stories in JIRA/confluence using industry standard notations (like Gherkin)
  • Experience working in large, complex data environments
  • Experience working on large and medium scale software projects is preferred
  • Experience working with diversified multi-location teams is preferred
  • Prior experience working in a shared services/enterprise level organization preferred
