Group Description
CIB Credit Risk Management is responsible for lending activities and related credit exposures within JPM’s Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB). The group is organized by geography with teams aligned by industry. CIB Credit Risk Managers lead the client credit relationship in partnership with Investment Banking.

The Special Credits Group (SCG) primarily focuses on risk-managing and maximizing the recovery of JPM’s credit exposure through early intervention in and financial restructuring of stressed/distressed borrowers. • Provide leadership to investors, company management, financial advisors, and outside counsel on generating the best solution for repayment of credit exposure and preserving important client relationships.
  • Advise and partner with internal deal teams including Corporate/FIG Credit Risk Management, Coverage, GCB, Leveraged Finance, Legal and Markets trading; review complex legal, financial and jurisdictional issues with an objective of improving credit structures on transactions.
  • Manage and contribute to the development and mentorship of more junior restructuring/workout professionals.
  • Lead the credit decision-making process in live stressed/distressed situations on an advisory/managed basis. Formulate and present exposure management strategy to senior management.
  • Prepare valuations on securities received from previous restructurings and formulate trading and disposition strategies.
  • Lead the wholesale regulatory, accounting and risk reporting agenda as well as SCG specific activities, such as Problem Credit Management Playbooks. Provide feedback on reports going to senior management (distressed/bankruptcy reports, wholesale credit costs forecasts, etc.).
Qualifications
  • 10 years of Credit Risk and/or Leveraged Finance experience and exposure to managing large syndicates as Agent.
  • Prior project management leadership in a Credit Risk or wholesale regulatory role.
  • First rate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure in a demanding environment.
