J.P. Morgan Equipment Finance – Lease End Negotiator / Equipment Remarketer works along side sales and equipment management in remarketing equipment coming off lease or attained through repossession, as well as quoting lease and loan early buyouts.  The candidate will work closely with sales, tax, internal equipment appraisers, third party appraisers and resellers, as well as directly with end users.  The candidate should have a working knowledge of equipment sales, skills to work through present value calculations,  an ability to interpret contracts and a negotiate with both resellers and equipment buyers.

Responsibilities:

  • Calculating and preparing quotes for, as well as processing, early payoff of loan and lease transactions.  Work directly with clients, bank market partners and EF Sales and Operations.  Payoffs include the calculations of principal & interest accruals for loans and purchase options and applicable taxes for leases.
  • Evaluate the current market value of equipment approaching end of lease for purposes of negotiating either a sale or the return of the equipment. Once evaluation is complete, prepare purchase quote for presentation to the client.
  • Remarketing of off-lease or repossessed equipment through agents, brokers and auctions as necessary, including, but not limited to the following asset types: railcars, trucks, trailers, yellow iron, machine tools, aircraft.
  • On-boarding and engaging of the third party vendors.
  • Support reporting requirements as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years in equipment finance with equipment remarketing experience
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills
  • Relationship building skills, providing the ability to excel within a team approach
  • Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task with minimal management supervision
  • Firm grasp of PV calculations and use of Microsoft Excel
  • Documentation review skills including knowledge of lease end return conditions
