This role is part of CIB Finance & Business Management in J.P. Morgan AG, which supports firm’s Corporate & Investment Banking operations in Germany. As its core business activities, J.P. Morgan AG is acting as Euro clearing provider for the J.P. Morgan affiliates and primarily financial institutions worldwide as well as a regulated custodian for the German investment market, while also acting as client-facing entity for OTC derivatives in distinct client segments
The opportunity is to join as Legal Entity Controller (LEC), supporting the Head of Finance in Germany with focus on IFRS and HGB and support specific LEC related projects. Key responsibilities:
Prepare and analyse financial reporting based on IFRS and HGB
Fulfill quarterly and annual reporting requirements with focus on IFRS and HGB
Contribute to the resolution of complex accounting issues and identify disclosure requirements
Participate in global projects, including the development of the future multiple GAAP ledger framework, implementation of new products and new regulatory requirements
Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Report
Respond to ad-hoc queries from senior management
We are looking for a candidate with experience in IFRS and HGB accounting and the coordination and preparation of the Annual Report.
Academic degree in business administration or finance
At least 4 years of professional experience in an accounting environment, ideally in the financial industry in Germany
Experience with IFRS / HGB and consolidation requirements which are relevant for J.P. Morgan AG as well as good understanding of a control environment
Experience with a multiple GAAP ledger concept preferable
Attention to detail, while being able to handle a large amount of data
Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal and team working skills
Ideally multi-cultural / multi-national background, being able to communicate internationally and across lines of business in a complex matrix structure
