The Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) organization in JPMC has over 700 staff members across the world. The team covers both global and business-aligned functions supporting the firm's Anti-money laundering (AML), Sanctions, and Anti-corruption programs and is led by the BSA/AML Officer and the AML Operations Executive.
The Investigations team, within the GFCC organization is seeking for a new member to join the Mexico Investigations Team, based on Mexico City.  Locally the investigations team is also accountable to the local Head of GFCC and MLRO. The GFCC Investigations Team is responsible for investigating and analysing transactions for potential money laundering risks.
Responsibilities include:
  • Performing analysis on transactions to identify unusual activity, conduct research on transactions, counterparties and other related parties
  • Undertaking case investigations of potentially suspicious activity
  • Preparing suspicious activity reports and related metrics and statistics
  • Assisting in project roll-out and UAT for monitoring system deployments.
  • Researching AML typologies and utilize knowledge to streamline and enhance parameters working in partnership with Corporate Coverage Strategy Team and Local GFCC to ensure monitoring parameters are in line with Corporate as well as local requirements.
  • Working with internal groups including partnering with LOB Compliance, Legal, Audit, Risk to ensure consistent understanding of requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), law degree a plus
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written English (fluent)
  • 2/3 years’ Experience in a control or risk function including AML/Sanctions related experience.
  • Understanding of regulatory concepts including, but not limited to, Mexico AML Regulatory requirements, the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act.
  • Ability to use information effectively and have an eye to detail.
  • Demonstrated skills in risk assessment. The ability to make sound decisions, including escalation when appropriate.
  • Proactive and team oriented with good interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized and able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/Access/PowerPoint).
