The role:
The Lead Web Services Developer is responsible for all aspects of business logic and delivery to the presentation layer development-including all project related middle tier technologies. Responsibilities include:
  • Liaising with business users and other technology teams to identify, assess and document business requirements/user stories.
  • Contributing to the architectural direction of the program.
  • Designing and executing clean and progressively enhanced code that reflects the architectural direction.
  • Undertaking development with modularity in mind to accommodate shifting priorities.
  • Researching and learning emerging technologies that may improve the quality, success, and performance of deliverables.
  • Participating in project scoping and planning, writing technical documentation, and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Documenting test strategies, ensuring that requirements documents/user stories can be easily translated into test scripts, and ensuring the testing plans are fully completed.
  • Defining data quality plans to address data quality issues; working with business partners to build business understanding of data issues.
  • Continuously improving the efficiency and productivity of the development team
  • Working as a team member within technology and other disciplines on large projects 
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Experience coding in an Enterprise Java environment. (Experience of Java 8 would be desirable)
  • Experience with web application server configuration, including Websphere, Tomcat, or Apache IIS.
  • Experience with relational or graph databases.
  • A solid grasp of OO principles and design patterns.
  • Experience using testing strategies such as TDD.
  • Experience of UI development with Angular 2 or Angular 4
