Role Description


Project Management- Responsible for partnering with technology, operations management, business management and the commodities desk to define and co-ordinate the business requirements, operating model, user acceptance testing and implementation of products within the Commodities group.


Regulatory Support and Control- Deliver large scale regulatory change initiatives that span across business units to address Industry, Business and Client requirements across the Markets Operations organization. 

Responsible for bau regulatory reporting control for the Commodities business –under CFTC, EMIR, ASIC, HKMA and MAS.


Risk and Controls - "Second line of defense” that will proactively identify potential Operational Risks and ensure adequate controls are in place to guard against financial loss. Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the control environment through Key Risk Indicators and the Risk Control Self Assessment process. This position is responsible for establishing the Operational Risk Framework and standards to be leveraged across global derivatives fixed income client aligned operations organization, collaborating with respective Macro/Markets trading/sales risk LOBs, and the Business Control officers. This includes the development of Operational Risk policies and procedures, as well as, documentation, testing guidelines, and required evidence to be shared.


Key responsibilities


  • Project management, monitoring and status reporting (disseminate prioritization, risks & issues and dependencies) throughout the project lifecycle Partner with relevant stakeholders to analyse and document business requirements and operating model.
  • Define appropriate milestones, tracking progress against them and being flexible and resourceful to ensure initiatives deliver necessary results.
  • Act as operations liaison with project stakeholders and serve as an escalation point to all relevant parties.
  • Create & coordinate all aspects of UAT plan, liaising with BAU teams and providing subject matter expert knowledge to define test cases and success criteria, and participating in execution of UAT and tracking of results.


  • Review and remediate regulatory reporting exceptions
  • Deal with internal and external queries in relation to regulatory protocols, providing a central point of contact


  • Work with Operations management to investigate incidents/errors, perform root cause analysis, identify recommended solutions, report to senior management, and track solution implementation
  • Serve as a key contact for regulatory or risk questions for the business, and ensure operational practices are in compliance with relevant risk standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Support Audit-related activities, ensuring issues are documented and dispositioned in FORCE.
  • Drive the operations training agenda around risk awareness and mitigation, and resiliency
  • Ensuring full understanding and adherence to all policy guidelines and procedural changes, as well as identifying potential control gaps
  • Reviewing control and performance indicators, analyzing trends and reporting of issues/errors/breaches
  • Execution of controls initiatives and projects and oversight of controls remediation action plans
  • Responsible for Business Continuity planning


  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment and be flexible to changes to scope and approach
  • University degree with experience in Financial Services, investment bank environment preferable
  • Experience of project management, business analysis or Operations; a combination would be ideal;
  • Trade life cycle knowledge,  settlements knowledge preferred
  • Commodities experience preferred
  • Desire to learn and add value across program team
  • Experience documenting requirements and coordinating testing a plus
  • Calm, well-organized, independent self-starter, capable of self- prioritization and appropriate escalation
  • Strong partnership record and ability to build effective business relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project skills

  • Understanding of key operational controls / reconciliation along the transaction life cycle.
  • Calm, well organized, independent self starter, capable of self prioritization and appropriate escalation
  • Capable of building strong partnership and ability to build effective business relationships
