The Australia Credit Risk team focuses on execution of transactions across acquisition & leveraged finance, derivatives, securities as well as liquidity and cash management products for a diversified portfolio of corporate, financial institutions and government clients.The Credit team works closely with business partners from Sales & Trading, the Global Corporate Bank, Equity and Debt Capital Markets and Corporate and Investment Bank. Its key responsibilities include assessing counterparty and relevant industry credit risk, determining appropriate risk ratings, as well as participating in due diligence, structuring, negotiation and documentation of transactions. They are also responsible for ongoing credit monitoring of the portfolio’s clients and their facilities.

An opportunity has arisen for an Analyst to join this team and support transaction structuring, due diligence and ongoing monitoring and management of the bank's credit exposure portfolio in Australia and New Zealand.



  • Prepare current as well as forward looking qualitative and quantitative credit analyses of a portfolio of clients across the FIG and Corporate industry;
  • Proactively monitor and recommend internal credit ratings and manage exposures of portfolio clients;
  • Interact closely with key stakeholders including client coverage and product bankers;
  • Support senior team members and Credit Executives to complete diligence, structuring and documentation involved in new transactions;
  • Prepare and monitor various credit and regulatory reporting requirements; and
  • Track market and industry developments and their impact on clients.

Experience/ Qualifications/ Knowledge:

  • Undergraduate degree or post graduate qualifications in finance, business or a quantitative related discipline;
  • At least two years of experience gained in a credit risk role within institutional banking;
  • Strong credit risk analysis skills, including financial analysis and product knowledge of loans, derivatives and securities;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster relationships and interact across lines of business and clients;
  • Good time management and ability to multi-task and deal with multiple work streams;
  • An understanding of Australian and U.S. regulatory frameworks would be advantageous.
