The Alternative Investments Support Associate supports the Private Bank’s Investor Community - Bankers, Investor Relations, Client Service, and Marketing teams by globally servicing the PB’s suite of alternative investments focused on private equity and real estate funds for this position.  They liaise directly with both our internal Structuring and Due Diligence teams as well as a wide selection of external funds, and their administrators to support all aspects of the fund lifecycle from launch, capital event processing, and eventual fund wind down.
The Private Bank’s Alternative Investment business continues to be one of the fastest-growing segments of the PB today.  Assets-under-Management are over $50 billion across the platform with over 55,000 active Private Equity and Real Estate positions. The Private Equity platform has grown substantially with volumes of events and orders increasing over 10% each year.  
The candidate will be required to quickly learn and support all aspects of the alternative business including but not limited to private equity, and real estate fund orders, ongoing capital events, redemptions, fund wind down logistics, reconciliations, and more. As the candidate further develops and refines his or her skill set, he or she will be called upon to field questions and provide solutions to internal clients and investors.
  • Become a specialist in all aspects of a designated set of alternative investments
  • Manage custody, accounting and fund administrator relationships 
  • Perform investment transaction bookings to accounting systems across the various products
  • Come up to speed with strategic support tool to ensure efficient and accurate event processing
  • Manage the cash flow activities for the Private Bank clients holding private investments
  • Assist with the pricing and reconciliation of positions and cash flows for our investments
  • Work with finance to ensure accurate reporting of flows and AUM data
  • Produce Ad-Hoc reporting for senior management
  • Liaise with Geneva Middle Office to support the global book of business across multiple accounting platforms and multiple currencies
  • Provide support and education to the Investor community around the products
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Understanding of financial products
  • Experience interfacing with Custodians, Fund Accountants/Administrators
  • Client service and/or operational experience
  • Experience with trading operations and/or systems
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and Detail-Oriented
  • Experience with Accounting Platforms (i.e. Omnitrust, Olympic)
  • Experience in Asset/Wealth Management focusing on Alternative Investments
  • Understanding of alternative investments, private banking and private banking operations
  • Accounting or tax experience
  • Exposure to international offices and procedures
  • Series 99 or 7 Certification
  • Team player and demonstrated work ethic
  • Strong capacity for operating in a flexible, dynamic environment where creative and strategic thinking is required
