Job Description:
The position is to maintain a high degree of quality in management and operations of the data center to all users including Bank operational business. The purpose is to ensure data center is running smoothly without business impact and/or under agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • To administrate and manage the daily health check operations work in data center.
  • To ensure all the system applications are running well and available at all time to end users.
  • To provide and update the DCO metrics reports daily.
  • To ensure the data center operations compliance with IT control policy.
  • To assist data center operation work during BCP annual test.
  • Datacenter rack space management by timely inventory and update Aperture/DCO control file after equipment installation/Decommission.
  • Perform cable patching/de-patching and update cable matrix while server installation/Decommission.
  • To manage/degauss media/HDDs removed from decommission/break fix equipment.
  • To enable and up the system external connections within target timeframe.
  • Closely monitor all system running status.
  • To provide recording playback function to users.
  • To highlight real time servers’ batch job or hardware abnormal status promptly to end users, AD team or server team
  • To raise tickets via EIMS and escalate any system problem promptly to AD/support team.
  • To ensure the cleanliness of the data center.
  • To ensure all the racks in Data center are secured and lock.
  • To maintain the tape inventory and movement log.
  • To maintain and updated the data center entries log and ensure no illegal entry.
  • To document and report any operational problem to team leader and the remediation action taken.
  • To attend users’ problem and follow up the resolutions.
  • To assist the new servers physically install into Data center.
  • To assist data center operation work during National holiday/New Year/unexpected market close.
  • To perform the data restoration upon business requested.
  • To be a local champion for morning health check.
  • To ensure operator can backup each other during one absence.
  • To assist power down activity.
  • To perform monthly media inventory validation and quarterly assessment of SOP for each site except branches.
  • Backup verification for the media with written through Netbackup.
  • Fix mismatch data between TAMS and Aperture.
  • Update DCO monthly scorecard and silver tollgate assessment report
  • To ensure key management follow SOP.
  • Contact with internal business and users for the data center operations issue or reports distribution.
  • With IT staffs for any problem escalations and status of resolutions.
  • With regional teams on the health check status updated daily.
  • With vendors for any maintenance and cabling task at Data center
  • Knowledge of Data Center operations
  • Knowledge of IT Control Policy to ensure the data center operations are compliance.
  • Communication skills with business, user and other IT colleagues.
  • Well understand SOP and implement accordingly.
  • ITIL knowledge certificate.
