Position Summary:  The Executive Director for International Partnerships will be responsible for creating and delivering a global international payments platform.  They will be responsible for identifying and creating relationships with banks and technology providers throughout the world to deliver JPMC’s market leading suite of merchant payment solutions to ecommerce customers.  This network of partners will expand the global reach of JPMC, allowing us to provide our ecommerce customers with the ability to use our platform in additional markets.


This leader will partner actively with the leaders of Merchant Services, Treasury Services as well as the CB/CIB segments of JPMC on a global basis in order to deliver an expanded international platform that will enable our customers to expand their relationship with Chase Commerce Solutions and to provide their customers with a robust global solution. 


They will work with International Expansion Leader in order to develop these relationships with local banks and acquirers in the key target countries identified by JPMC.  This leader will be responsible for working with internal JP Morgan resources as well as external and partner resources in order identify, develop and formally establish a working relationship with these partner banks.  The leader will also be responsible for working with multiple JPMC program, project and technical resources as the ultimate program manager of the International Expansion program.


This role will report to the Head of International Expansion and be a critical member of the Merchant Services team.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Work with Merchant Services, other internal JP Morgan resources and any third party partners (Visa, MasterCard and/or processors) to identify potential bank partners in target markets

·         Lead efforts with internal and external legal counsel to establish contractual working parameters with bank partners

·         Work with Merchant Services and bank partner resources to develop and legally establish our relationship to ensure market share, revenue and profit growth as well as to define expected service level commitments. 

·         Develop a methodology to identify new countries and partnerships and create a standard RFP and onboarding process in order to streamline go-to-market process.

·         Work with internal partners to ensure all control/compliance/risk activities are addressed during ongoing partner due diligence process.

·         Become an active member of the International Expansion leadership team with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively across multiple business functions.

·         Responsible for creating process for and conducting annual service review of each partner.

·         Work with International Expansion lead to partner internally with Merchant Services sales, relationship management and proposal teams to ensure proper positioning of partner offering into standard sales, RFP and marketing material.

·         Responsible to identify and create processes necessary to capture and maintain information regarding partner relationship.  These could include; invoicing for fees, revenue sharing, credit/risk indemnification, client reporting, issue tracking to resolution, among others.

·         Work with additional JPMC program management leadership to ensure all streams and any internal builds particularly around reporting, settlement and reconciliation are completed are aligned and on time and on budget

·         Provide input and leadership on JPMC products required for solution such as boarding, reporting, dispute management.

·         Actively participate in RFP process for technical solution providers and local acquiring partnersMinimum Requirements:
·         Prior experience establishing acquiring solutions/companies in LATAM, EU or APAC

·         10 years of acquiring experience.  International experience strongly preferred.

·         Must have negotiation, contracting or other expertise

·         Program management leadership

·         Ability to work independently and create goals and vision for delivery in ambiguous or new situations

·         Deep understanding of financials, mechanics of forecasting and variable sensitivity

·         Demonstrated strong leadership and insightful analytical skills

·         Ability to problem-solve and clearly articulate objectives and the required path(s) to implement new process/program

·         Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with desire of using both in collaboration with potential partners and internal stakeholders

·         Excellent influencing-without-authority skills

·         Sense of urgency with disposition to execute and a demonstrated career of successful program implementations

·         Demonstrated experience in driving strategy within a large multi-segment organization, preferably in the payments industry

·         Experience in managing people on small to mid-sized teams

·         Proven exceptional relationship building skills inside and outside the organization

·         Proven experience in working across departments, lines of business within large organizations

·         BS degree or equivalent experience required, MBA preferred
