Business Unit: The Strategic Programs Group within Wealth Management Business Management is responsible for defining business strategy and solutions as well as execution for programs and projects of varying scope and complexity.  This group engages to enable wealth management (Private Bank, JPMorgan Securities, and Chase Wealth Management) to achieve key business goals, influence decision making, and execute change across wealth management.  This group leads various initiatives, through one or more phases of an initiative: Strategy, Scope, Business Design, Technology Solutions, Planning, and Implementation.
Role:  The Strategic Programs Group is recruiting for a self-motivated, high performing, experienced Executive Director to lead initiatives involving significant business and technology change tied to strategic initiatives across wealth management.  The individual in this role will be assigned to manage high priority technology and non-technology dependent efforts with significant financial, process, and organizational impacts that cut across multiple business lines and/or functions.  Key attributes include the ability to think and plan strategically, while directing initiatives at a tactical level; effectively communicate and interact with senior business leaders and other program and project sponsors; manage program-wide governance, scope, change management, risks and issues; quickly and comprehensively assess and address issues associated with supported initiatives, adapt overall project delivery process to be effective within the scope of their assigned initiative.
Key Responsibilities may include:
  • Become a trusted advisor that leaders look to for guidance across multiple disciplines
  • Lead one or more large and / or complex, cross-organizational or cross-business unit programs and projects to deliver significant business results
  • Design and develop business case, program structure, governance and roles & responsibilities as appropriate and required
  • Drive the analysis and definition of solutions across key business, regulatory, or control priorities
  • Lead the planning and implementation of key deliverables focused on both long term strategy and tactical execution
  • Liaise with subject matter experts and management across functions and lines of business to influence consensus and provide ongoing transparency consistently
  • Resolve conflict and gaps through expert collaboration and broad decision-making
  • Communicates with senior executives regarding progress, issues and risk of the projects/programs managed through formal and informal conversation
  • Utilizes direct and indirect influencing skills, upward and downward, to drive progress, track/monitor/report detailed project activity.
  • Provide management with quality analysis, thoughtful recommendations, and key reporting to make decisions on an ongoing and ad-hoc basis
Required skills:
  • At least 8-10 years of experience leading large complex initiatives with a structured, detailed, and results oriented approach
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-organizational or cross-business unit programs and projects
  • Proficient in detailed project planning
  • A demonstrated bias for action, creative problem-solving, ability overcome the obstacles and achieving fulfillment by “creating order out of chaos”. 
  • Collaborative with strong ability to develop relationships and influence agreement or consensus across business, technology and program execution boundaries
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and develop high performing employees; lead and influence cross-functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills at varying levels of leadership, can build rapport and credibility
  • Excels in a fast paced, fluid, and ambiguous environment with flexibility and adaptability
  • Capacity to become a subject matter expert on a new topic quickly to drive progress and educate others
  • Wealth Management experience in Investments, Banking, and Credit offerings highly desired
  • Experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Program or Project management certification desired
  • Business and technology consulting experience desired
  • Ability to travel 10-15%
