Global Financial Crimes Compliance (“GFCC”) is responsible for developing and implementing the requirements and standards for the firm’s Enterprise –Wide Anti-money Laundering, OFAC Sanctions, and the local equivalent in Asia. The Wealth Management (“WM”) GFCC Advisory officers work closely with the business and other functions to identify, assess, and quantify the level of risk associated with WM’s products, services, customers, transactions, and geographic locations to develop appropriate policies, procedures, and processes to monitor, control, and mitigate the associated risks.
Purpose of Position
Provide advisory services to LOB’s and ensure GFCC policies and standards are incorporated into business practices
Provides risk assessment and no objection to onboard/retain new/existing customers
Assists in the development and implementation of various AML programs and projects:
Client On-boarding/On-going Monitoring
Supports the implementation of the client identification and on-boarding program;
Assists KYC Advisory with advising and managing AML/ KYC related escalations and requirements and prepares recommendations to the supervisors;
Review, perform risk assessments and provide "no objection" on PEPs and High Risk customers during on-boarding, routine updates and periodic reviews;
Main facilitator for the AML Committee by preparing case materials and minutes for cases that are escalated for reviews and approval.
Policies and Procedures
Reviews and updates AML related policies and procedures to ensure the internal firm-wide standards and the external regulatory requirements are complied with.
Regulatory Exams / Inquiry Management
Co-ordinates with other internal departments to prepare necessary regulatory submission documents.
Provides advice for ad-hoc AML/KYC projects/initiatives, e.g. testing/implementation of KYC/AML tools, KYC remediation etc.
Prepares training materials for training presentations.
Attends industry forums to acquire latest regulatory updates.
Maintains and prepares management information system and meeting materials.
