Position Summary
Cash Operations offers innovative solutions and services to various Lines of Business across multiple asset classes and geographies.  The unit maintains relationships with hundreds of clients worldwide. In addition to this J.P. Morgan is an industry leader in providing clearing, custody, operations, and technology solutions. EMEA Payments Operations is responsible for ensuring timely payments on behalf of the clients (both internal and external) of the firm.
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the day to day Operations for Multicurrency Processing Function. The role would be that of shift manager reporting to the VP of EMEA Payments Operations and would involve managing a team of approximately six people and ensuring close coordination with other Operations hubs to ensure business goals and objectives are met.
The role includes a requirement to support various shift patterns
Key responsibilities
  • Provide overall supervision / leadership to the staff during all shift operating windows  
  • Review staffing and volume trends to ensure the optimal capacity plan is in place.
  • Constant review of all processes with a focus on continual service improvement
  • Develop and lead a team that is responsive to dynamic organizational and operational changes.
  • Manage the performance management cycle - Objective setting, development and career planning, performance appraisal and reward & recognition for the team.
  • Foster and champion High Performance Culture where people are empowered to make decisions that affect their work/environment.
  • Act as a point of contact for escalations
  • Conduct regular team meetings, 1:1s, and coaching sessions
  • Identify/manage risk and overall control environment.
  • Experience and a strong working knowledge of International Payment Processing Operations.
  • Working/Expert Knowledge of SWIFTS & international payment conventions & practices.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills to be able to communicate at all levels.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong business relationships within the site and across the business. 
  • Escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to use creative problem solving techniques to solve business issues. 
  • A strong client focus.
  • Experience of working / partnering with Risk, Audit and Compliance to ensure that the overall organizational objectives are met.
  • Strong planning, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Encourage and practice efficient cost management
  • Flexibility to work global hours and willing to travel globally
