Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mainframe Software Development Manager for our US Custody Platform.  You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.
As a Mainframe Software Development Manager, you will manage multiple scrum teams under a core Agile delivery platform where you will leverage your technical experience in Mainframe tools and utilities, such as COBOL, CICS, DB2, TSO, MQ, VSAM, XML and other mainframe tools. This manager will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by providing the design and development of Tax applications under US Global Custody. 
Additionally, you will serve as a Scrum Master and be required to conduct Scrum planning sessions among other Scrum ceremonies which will help drive experience Agile development team members drive to provide stable and innovative IT solutions. You will be required to partner with our Business Product Owner and other stakeholders to aid in achieving a healthy Product Backlog in order to meet our client needs.  You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications.
  • Manage multiple application development teams following an Agile framework
  • Manage multiple projects of medium to large scale through a sprint/iterative process.
  • Organize and facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as Sprint Planning meetings, daily stand ups, retrospective and other Scrum related meetings
  • Track and communicate team velocity and provide transparency to Product Owners, stakeholders and senior management
  • Ensure teams follow a set of Core Agile Principles
  • Work closely with Product Owners to aid in ensuring a healthy Product Backlog, providing application guidance to ensure technical debt is accounted for
  • Assist in internal and external communication
  • Assist teams in making commitments through story selection and task decomposition, as well as make decisions around self improvement
  • Promote continuous improvement to help achieve increased productivity
  • Assist in defining a deploying product development processes and in facilitating the continuous improvement of existing processes 
Required Skills
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Certified Scrum Master and/or 3+ years' experience in Agile development & Agile development principles
  • 8+ years experience of enterprise software development processes and lifecycle
  • 10+ years’ experience in CICS, File-aid, DB2, COBOL, CA7, JCL, VSAM, MQ and ENDEVOR.
  • Experience with Client server technology
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as QTP is an advantage
  • Experience working on high volume, mission critical batch and on-line systems
