Prime Services consists of three sub-lines of businesses:  Prime Brokerage & Financing, Derivatives Clearing and USBD/Commercial Paper/Securities Clearance.  The focus of this role is within Derivatives Clearing. 


The Capital teams sits within the wider Balance sheet and liquidity team, as part of CIB Finance and Business Management, and is responsible for supporting the reporting, efficient management and explain of capital across the business and other F&BM stakeholders.  The team has evolved in response to heightened sensitivity and requirement for a fortress balance sheet, robust financial performance measures (Tier 1 Capital ratio / Leverage ratio / Return on Equity) as well as the efficient management of regulatory capital and liquidity.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Continue to progress business Capital and RWA optimization agenda
  • Own short and long-term forecasting RWA and all items mandated from Corporate. Ensure accurate forecasts are submitted in a timely manner and properly syndicated and understood by the business
  • Oversee timely and fastidious commentary on RWA
  • Partner with CIB Treasury and Corporate on Bank and external filing agenda
  • Build and implement best in class controls Basel 3 Advanced and Basel 3 Standardized RWA
  • Understand and remediate issues in input data used in RWA calculation: legal agreements, credit data, trade feed issues
  • Ensure LOB is in compliance with all CIB and Corporate policies such as RWA policy and Product Controller Standards, ensuring controls are documented and transparent
  • Advise business on evolving internal and external regulatory rule changes for RWA (B3A, B3S)
  • Explain, with simple clarity, complex regulatory changes to business partners. Including concise analysis of how regulatory changes apply specifically to the business
  • Participate in and develop materials for bi-weekly capital forum agenda
  • Own ad hoc requests for the business as needed
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong Accounting/Finance background
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation skills – written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and execute on a variety of deliverables
  • Ability to think on your toes and be creative with ad hoc requests
  • Derivatives experience preferred
  • Knowledge with regulatory rules, Basel III preferred
  • Self-Motivated and Results Driven
  • Ability to implement and maintain effective controls
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
