VP/Executive Director, Custody and Fund Services (CFS) Client Solutions Group

Position Summary

Member of a professional team dedicated to delivering business solutions for J.P. Morgan’s clients and

prospects in the Custody and Fund Services business. The Client Solutions Group acts as a technical

consulting team proposing tailored bundles of Custody and Fund Services products for key clients and

prospects, and manages them from deal inception through the implementation process once JPM has

been selected as a provider.

Key Responsibilities

This team is responsible for partnering with our Sales, Product, Operations and Technology teams to

develop operating solutions for complex client requirements arising from new business or client change

requests and for managing clients on to our platform.


New Business Activity

o Manage delivery of highly complex or high profile deals along with all interested partners

throughout the deal activity lifecycle.

o Provide end to end deal support to Sales teams. Document the scope, solution, service and

issues for each opportunity.

o Apply proper project management discipline to our larger client engagements.

o Act as the deal’s single point of escalation for J.P. Morgan on client driven issues impacting

deal delivery.

o Work in partnership with Operations, Technology and Client Service to design and develop

operating models for new clients or to meet non-standard requirements from existing


Client & Regulatory Change

o Analyze and document solutions in response to complex change requests

o Partner with Product and Product Development to identify competitor differentiators arising

from regulatory changes, and drive a new service bundle solution to meet the new regulatory


o Support the delivery of the right commercial/legal/pricing solution across products/functional



Identify, design and influence investment initiative priorities for new product enhancements, service

bundles and operational efficiencies.


Ability to act as an subject matter expert, providing in depth knowledge across a range of product and services, including Custody, Fund Accounting, TA, IOS, Derivatives, Collateral, Securities Lending, at a minimum. A particular focus and acumen on fund accounting and fund administration a plus.

  • Ability to apply sound commercial thinking to solutions that are developed
  • High awareness of operating risk and mitigating controls
  • A solid background in Fund Accounting/Administration ideally gained through operational experience with a deep understanding of complex fund structures/features/instruments and servicing requirements
  • A broad understanding of the Custody & Fund Services product suite
  • A working knowledge of the SunGard InvestOne system and associated architecture is
  • advantageous
  • An understanding of the US funds regulatory environment
  • An accounting qualification is advantageous but not essential
  • Financial services experience part of which should be with an international service supplier
  • Strong business analysis skills backed up by extensive experience and the ability to solution issues with many stakeholders
  • Good client and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to manage and influence others
  • The role will involve a significant amount of dialogue with internal partners, senior management, client and their auditors to clarify requirements and agree/negotiate the most appropriate solutions.
  • This will require strong decision making and influencing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the firm and the client.
