Counterparty Credit Infrastructure and Capital (CCIC) is a global private side group with a presence in New York, London and Asia, and is part of CIB Credit Risk. CCIC has a wide range of responsibilities across derivatives and other traded products, including credit exposure infrastructure, tools and methodology, analysis of exposure and XVA for complex transactions, stress testing, wrong way risk, advanced regulatory capital models and counterparty risk data governance.
The team partners widely, and in particular with Credit Officers, Regulatory Capital Management Office, Quantitative Research, Model Review & Governance, Markets sales and trading, Credit Portfolio Group and Finance.
Job Summary:
This is a new role to be the liaison across CIB Credit Risk for the documentation and oversight of Non-Model Estimation Methods (NMEM); in addition the role will partner with Credit Risk Business Management to manage and execute the overall model, user tool, and analytical tool inventory and attestation processes.  
Core Responsibilities:

  • On an ongoing basis work across CIB Credit risk for early identification of potential NMEM’s, helping the different teams to appreciate the distinction between model and non-model
  • With input from the SMEs in the relevant Credit Risk team, document the NMEMs in a consistent and high quality manner
  • Coordinate the launch of the periodic NMEM confirmation process, and in conjunction with business management provide instruction on proper and efficient execution. This includes establishing a timeline, training Credit Risk professionals to understand the scope and criteria for identifying an NMEM, and driving execution with LOBs and functional areas
  • Initiate the final NMEM inventory review and obtain confirmation from senior management. After final confirmation, document updates to the NMEM inventory and communicate final results to MRGR
  • Distribute the ASA Questionnaire (designed by MRGR) to all NMEM owners, and after collecting and aggregating the responses, confirm the NMEM tiering assignment, identify NMEM to be re-reviewed and communicate final ASA results to MRGR 
  • Present new medium or high tier NMEMs to the Wholesale Credit Risk Control Forum for final validation
  • Present any NMEM related risks/issues to the appropriate Firmwide and LOB Estimation Risk Committees and Capital Governance Committee on a periodic basis
  • Work with business management on the model, analytical tool, and User Tool inventory attestation process
Essential skills, experience, and qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in banking / financial services industry
  • Degree in a Finance, Engineering, Economics, Math/Statistics or related quantitative discipline
  • Strong quantitative, analytical skills and flair for independent research & problem solving
  • Knowledge of financial products/markets and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent partnership and team management skills
  • Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Self-starter who is able to perform effectively in a fast paced, results driven environment
  • Risk Management and Control mindset (ability to identify control gaps and/or issues)
