Job Description:

The Private Client Small Business Banker is responsible for managing full-service banking relationships while delivering a superior service experience to a portfolio of affluent clientele and will have an additional focus on small business. As the main point of contact for the client, the Banker's primary responsibility is to generate growth in the client's balances through the recommendation and referral of products across business lines utilizing a proactive and disciplined approach. A successful Banker will be expected to contribute to acquisition of new clients by actively soliciting referrals and developing internal and external sources.


As the banker serves as the clients' personal advocate at Chase, areas of focus will include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively managing the banking relationship and ensuring the client receives the best products, services and rates for his or her needs
  • Delivering an advice-based approach to product recommendations
  • Deepening relationships with clients by:
    • Demonstrating a team based approach in conjunction with an Investment Advisor, to deliver our investment capabilities and identify opportunities for deposit growth. 
    • Working with internal business partners to cross-market and promote Chase financial services and products such as home equity, mortgage, and small business where appropriate/
    • You will prospect for business opportunities in the branch, and retain and grow Business customers.

This position is subject to the Dodd Frank/Truth in Lending Act qualification requirements for Loan Originators. As such, an employment offer for this position is contingent on JPMC's review of your criminal conviction history, credit report, information available through NMLS, and any other information relevant to a determination by JPMC that you demonstrate financial responsibility, good character, and general fitness for the position. Note that any felony conviction within the last seven years will disqualify you from consideration for this position. Your continued employment in this position would be contingent upon compliance with Truth in Lending Act/Dodd Frank Loan Originator requirements.


In addition, this position requires National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008. As such, upon active employment with JPMorgan Chase, you will be required to either register on NMLS, or to update your existing registration as necessary to grant access to and reflect your employment with JPMorgan Chase. Your continued employment in this position with JPMorgan Chase is contingent upon compliance with the SAFE Act, including successful registration immediately after your start date, and timely completion of annual renewal and required updates thereafter.

    • Minimum of two years as a Personal Banker or equivalent with verifiable success in new client acquisition, revenue generation and meeting targets


    • Experience deepening relationships with affluent customers is preferred.


    • Business banking sales or outside consultative business to business sales preferred


    • Series 6/7, Series 63/67(in states where required,) life licenses REQUIRED


    • Public Notary (can be obtained subsequent to hire)


    • Excellent communication skills


    • Demonstrated success using a Relationship-oriented approach to selling


    • Experience applying a Value-added, needs-based selling approach


    • Strong team orientation with a commitment of long-term career growth with the firm


    • College degree preferred or High school degree/GED or foreign equivalent


    • Ability to work branch hours, including weekends and some evenings
