Agent Lending / Securities Lending is an investment overlay strategy that enhances the intrinsic value of a portfolio of securities by producing alpha or income which can be used to increase a portfolio’s return and/or offset expenses.

The team manages discretionary lending of both Fixed Income and Equities across 36 markets. The product ensures risks are managed and mitigated using various methods not least of which is via collateral which maybe in the form of cash or securities.


The Portfolio Adviser is responsible for ensuring that the day to day requirements of the client’s lending program are met which include agent lending, directed, 3rd party directed and non custody programs. You will be the first point of contact for client enquiries and work closely with partner groups across the organization. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as Subject Matter Expert for VPR (Views Portfolio Reporting), the online tool used by clients
  • Identifying client training opportunities and assisting clients to self serve through the available tools
  • Instructing on client requests and collaborating with appropriate stakeholders to ensure completion
  • Ensuring delivery and accuracy of all client reporting.
  • Leading regular performance reviews, including pre-reviews with all relevant parties
  • Reviewing client program parameters and client accounts and presenting trade opportunities, when relevant
  • Ensuring all legal documentation, correspondence and reports are appropriately maintained
  • Maintaining an acute awareness of the client’s requirements in relation to market events and activities 
  • Fostering close partnerships with Sales, Trading, Relationship Managers and Service Managers
  • Responding to RFPs and working with Sales to identify new opportunities


To be successful, you will need:

  • Relevant financial services experience and knowledge of the Agent Lending product
  • Experience in a client relationship management/service environment 
  • Commitment to providing high standards of quality client service
  • Ability to work to multiple deadlines and prioritize appropriately
  • Proficient in using MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Excellent numeracy,presentation and negotiation skills
  • An ability to effectively manage relationships, both internal and external
