Firmwide Oversight and Control (O&C), was designed to ensure a strong and consistent control environment across the organization from front office to back office, regardless of line of business or functional area. With Control Officers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, we have a comprehensive coverage/accountability model that promotes firmwide dialogue and consistency in approach and solutions.

 

The O&C Controls Room team works collaboratively with other control disciplines and oversees existing control functions as well as the development of new control functions and protocols. This process enables the firm to engage the appropriate teams in a timely manner and provides the ability to quickly remediate critical control issues across all the impacted areas of the firm.

 

The Business Analyst will support O&C Controls Room Team; working together with business SMEs and LOB control officers to implement and enhance risk and control program frameworks, and manage strategic initiatives. The role will also involve working closely with technical developers to support the design and execution of strategic technology initiatives. The successful candidate will need to work with the multiple constituencies and be delivery focused with a keen eye toward program, project and artifact completion to meet deadlines. This position represents an excellent opportunity for candidates to gain a comprehensive understanding of the firm’s risk and control framework, hone problem solving, communication, and leadership skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for helping manage the various strategic projects, process enhancement and control initiatives related to material risk and control programs
  • Assist with implementation of enhancements to the processes and tools to improve management information systems and reporting regarding control issues, at an enterprise-wide level
  • Perform research and data analytics to support the implementation of strategic initiatives and regulatory deliverables
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of risk and control program strategies. Apply this knowledge to improve projects, determine solutions and resolve issues
  • Create communication materials for the projects managed
  • Manage/participate in multiple project work-streams concurrently
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the Finance or Technology Industry
  • Experience working with internal control and risk management is a plus
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, problem-solving, detail oriented, interpersonal and writing skills (including meeting minutes/documentation)
  • Experience project managing small to large scale projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of functional groups at various levels
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability
  • Flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment
  • Effective time management and multitasking skills
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Advanced skills for MS Office Suite applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • Project management and programming experience a plus (Experience with SQL, Java, C, C++, XML, SQL, HTML, and Visual Basic)
