Luxembourg Fund Accounting Business Overview:
Luxembourg Fund Accounting is a centre of expertise providing an operational service to multiple clients and fund types on behalf of JP Morgan Corporate & Investment Bank.  Business functions are distributed across several global sites and Luxembourg provides, amongst other things a Client facing service, Operations Service Delivery, to manage the production of the NAV and interact with Clients on all operational matters.  
 
 
About JPMorgan Tax Operations Luxembourg
 
  • Provision of shareholder investment tax reporting for Funds administered in Luxembourg (Currently - German , Austrian, Belgian, Swiss, Italian & UK  tax reporting)
  • Preparation and review of daily, annual and distribution tax reporting.
  • Analytical review of tax reporting data vs  Fund NAV calculations
  • Centralised performance of certain activity re: provision of tax services for Luxembourg and other accounting locations
  • NAV & Tax processing and reporting for Fund Distribution events
  • Management of tax certification process with Fund tax auditors
  • Respond to client tax queries
  • Working with other internal and external groups in development of new tax services and ensuring ongoing compliance of current tax services
  • Preparation, review and submission of regulatory reports to local regulators (BCL, CSSF, Taxe d’Abonnement)
  • Escalate all issues promptly and effectively to manager.
 
About the role 
 
The Tax Operations Specialist will have primary responsibility for ensuring that the delivery of the Tax Operations Team is completed in line with client service level agreements and to the required quality standard.
 
 
Duties and responsibilities
 
The Tax Operations Specialist will be responsible for
  • Ensuring effective work allocation and maximise both the efficiency and the quality of the team delivery.
  • Quality Control & Change Management: As part of working in a dynamic environment, the Tax Operations Specialist will need to ensure there is a strong & effective working relationship with all key stakeholders, including the Tax Operations Managers, third party vendors and other key internal stakeholders.
  • Client & external Auditor relationship: primary responsibility for management of the client relationship in the context of the tax service.
  • Ensure full functional understanding of and compliance with operational risk processes & controls
  • Assist with the preparation of procedures & checklists and ongoing review of existing  procedures & checklists
Qualifications
 
Knowledge/Experience:
  • 4 – 5 year experience in European Investor tax reporting. Knowledge of Luxembourg regulatory and distribution reporting would be an advantage, but not essential
  • Very good understanding of Luxembourg SICAV products, particular product features, fund accounting operating models and financial instruments. Prior experiences in a Fund Valuation or Fund Auditor role would be a definite advantage.
  • Fluent in English (oral & written); German would be an advantage
  • Ability to self-manage and multi-task
  • Excellent inter-personnel & Communication skills
  • Very Strong leadership skills
  • Experience leading a team or managing people.
  • Experience in third-party oversight would be an advantage
