Custody and Fund Services provides middle office, custody, accounting and administration services for fund managers including mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity, real estate funds, pension funds and fund of funds.
Description of the Position with Key Responsibilities:
Client NAV Valuation and additional Reporting Monitoring and Oversight:
Monitor delivery from reporting release team, maximise timeliness & accuracy.
Undertake programme of oversight controls, spot checks and analytical review, to ensure above.
Identify delivery issues, escalate to Internal Governance Team.
External Client Servicing:
Act as first line support for all incoming client and fund manager queries.
Liaison with all Internal and External parties to ensure that issues are resolved within agreed deadlines.
Provision of all ad-hoc client reporting requests.
Provision of MIS and where required action plans to remediate against any issues
Attendance at Client Service Review Meetings on request.
Internal Client Servicing:
Act as first line liaison for incoming queries from other internal product providers who use Institutional Fund Accounting data: (e.g. Compliance, Custody, Performance & Risk departments)
Attendance at Internal Service Review Meetings on request.
Identification and logging of reporting/client service issues and reporting to internal Governance Teams.
Creation of delivery remediation plans where service issues arise.
Support Client Change/on boarding Teams as required.
Swiss coverage relevant aspects
Key focus will be on the coverage of the Swiss market for the Investor Services business
Swiss relevant pension fund accounting knowledge and ongoing monitoring of relevant developments
Client facing for all accounting or Swiss regulatory reporting tasks, liaison with the teams
Ensure automation for accounting and related reporting tasks according to Swiss standards
Excellent understanding of all components of a Fund Accounting NAV
Excellent understanding of Regulatory and Statutory Reporting requirements, particularly those prevalent within Switzerland (Pension Funds and Mutual Funds)
Good understanding of the underlying asset classes that can be held within the NAV (including derivatives and alternative vehicles)
Excellent client service experience, confident, focused on client satisfaction.
Effective communicator written and verbal, both in (Swiss) German and English.
Experience, skills and other requirements:
- Academic degree in business administration or Finance
- Strong accounting background with at least 6 years of experience
- Ability to deliver high quality results within agreed timescales
- Track record of managing projects and improving processes
- Ability to identify and manage complex issues on own initiative
- Experience of working within a team that is split across multiple locations would be an advantage
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills
- Language capabilities: Fluency in (Swiss) German and English a must , French an additional asset
- The candidate must be flexible to travel frequently between Germany and other EMEA locations
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
