Background:

JPMorgan continues to invest in our Technology Hubs across the globe and to ensure that they have a strong identity and that they continue to innovate, evolve and improve.

Bournemouth has gained a reputation for experimenting with new ways of working and for setting the standard for how Hubs in other locations are run.

The role:

In Bournemouth we are looking for a highly motivated individual to help us run and improve the Hub.  The primary activities are:

  • Coordinating a wide range of events, that include large scale technology festivals to inspire our staff (known as TechFest) and information sharing and social events with our managers and staff

  • Execute our communications strategy, which includes using multiple channels to communicate the transformation agenda

  • Run a number of other processes (e.g. use of our Innovation Space and schemes for recognizing people’s achievements)

The core skills needed for this role are:

•A strong sense of ownership

•A passion for continuous improvement

•Ability to collaborate with people in all functions across the hub

•Enjoys organizing large scale events

•Ability to define, document & execute processes

•Highly organised

 

Additional, but non-critical skills:

 

•Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle

•Familiarity with SharePoint

The current scope of the role is estimated to require 3 days per week, with periods of varying intensity.  For somebody requiring a full time role we would add additional responsibilities from other areas of the Hub Management function.


Additional Detail:

Activity #1 - Event Management:

Activities include:

·         Calendar management (e.g. recording events, identifying clashes)

·         Booking rooms

·         Event coordination (e.g. liasing with GRE to set up rooms)

·         Audio Video coordination (liasing with AV team)

·         Catering coordination (liasing with catering team)

·         Volunteer management (e.g. identifying people to do attendance registration)

·         Administration for visitors (e.g. parking, expenses)

·         Support the events team with contract approvals

 

Activity #2 - Communications:

Responsibilities include:

o   Work with teams to draft stories for the newsletter

o   Work with Corporate Communications team to refine stories

o   Promote events (e.g.  by using digital signage, emails)

 

Activity #3 - Other key responsibilities:

·         Manage the use of the Innovation Space

·         Manage the Rewards and Recognition function

·         Work with the Real Estate team to place new teams in the most appropriate places
