The Wholesale Allowance team is a part of the Wholesale Credit Analytics & Solutions (WCAS) group, which sits at the intersection of Credit Risk and Finance with responsibility for implementing key credit risk practices across the wholesale lines of business (LOB). The Wholesale Allowance team is responsible for the methodology and calculation of the allowance for credit losses in accordance with FASB standards.
We are looking to fill a newly created role as the Wholesale Allowance Control Officer to establish and maintain a strong control framework for the new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS 9) and Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) allowance processes. The candidate will play a key role in defining the allowance controls that will be subject to review by internal and external auditors and regulators. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish, define, and implement the allowance control framework for IFRS 9 and CECL, which entails a thorough understanding of the end-to-end allowance process and associated infrastructure
  • Develop SOX controls for CECL in compliance with requirements, incorporating insight from auditors
  • Manage reporting and analytics of controls; prepare presentations for senior management and other key stakeholders
  • Prepare materials for allowance audits and regulatory exams
  • Perform control gap analysis to identify and remediate control gaps
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and standard operating procedures related to allowance controls
  • Act as subject matter expert on allowance controls and primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Execute ongoing monitoring of control framework and controls to comply with requirements; provide recommendations for enhancements to controls
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality results within tight deadlines; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and process re-engineering skills
  • Investigative mindset, able to see issues at both a high level and in detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience with creating documentation
  • Energetic self-starter who takes ownership
  • Strong team player, comfortable working with all levels of the organization
  • Strong technical skills in using Excel and PowerPoint (experience with PitchPro is a plus)
  • Interest and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
