Job Description:
As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems 
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages <Recruiter to list specific language requirements for the posting>
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
  • Proficiency in Oracle Database (12x)  development
  • Should have hands-on design and development experience in Oracle database; writing queries, stored procedures, packages and functions
  • Any prior experience in BI tools (Cognos, Business Objects/SSRS) and ETL technologies (Datastage, Informatica, SSIS) will be a strong advantage.
  • Should have a strong background in query tuning and performance optimization.
  • Financial services including middle & back office knowledge (2+ years) is a plus.
  • Ensures adherence to agreed quality assurance and release management procedures for the design, build, testing, integration and support of software.
  • Have a positive approach to work and to fellow team members.
  • Ability to provide solutions to a tight deadline.
  • Proven analytical, planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills,
  • Proven ability to multi-task with rapidly-changing work priorities
  • Should be able to understand and analyze business requirements and provide optimized solutions.
  • Should be able to guide and help the team in their BAU and take ownerships on the deliverables.
  • Should provide status of BAU work and issues to the Manager in a timely manner. In particular, to relay issues that may impact quality or the ability to deliver to timescales or estimates
  • Should have excellent listening, communication and influencing skills.
