Job Description:
Capital Management is a firmwide function in the Firm’s Treasury and Chief Investment Office (CIO) organization within Corporate Finance.  Global Treasury/CIO is responsible for the Funding and Liquidity risk management of the firm worldwide as well as managing the structural Interest Rate Risk of firm across a wide range of asset classes, with the main hubs being located in London, New York and Hong Kong.
The Capital Management group oversees the risk-weighted asset (RWA) and capital measurement processes across the firm, and helps ensure efficient and appropriate management of our capital.   The team oversees and coordinates across established teams in Finance, Risk and Regulatory Policy.  The team's scope includes policy interpretation, oversight of implementation changes, dialogue with regulators on RWA calculations and model changes, reporting and establishing RWA limits and managing the firm's capital stress testing processes.  Its mandate includes determining the appropriate investment in people and technology to improve the accuracy and timeliness of RWA calculations as well as the implementation of new rules and guidelines as they are made public. 


Job Summary
As a member of the Capital Controller’s team the individual’s responsibilities will include:
  • Lead core technology build out to automate RWA reporting and analysis
  • Define and document full-scale project plan
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Develop and document business requirements pertaining to Risk Weighted Assets reporting and attestation (Basel III Advanced & Standardized)
  • Effectively communicate project updates to all stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Identify requirements for production parallel activities and manage testing framework
  • Determine and manage timeline to transition to the new application and decommission the existing application
  • Assist the broader team on other projects such as upcoming Basel IV implementation

The position involves interaction with many teams across RCMO and the firm including LOB and Corporate Finance Functions, BM&A, Regulatory Policy, Audit, and Technology. The ability to work efficiently, communicate effectively and influence across these boundaries will be one of the keys to success.

  • 5 or more years of experience in a finance, control, risk or audit function

  • End to End understanding of the Regulatory Reporting process as well as prior knowledge of and experience in Regulatory Capital preferred

  • Creative self-starter with strong initiative, ability to take ownership and work independently as well as contribute to the broader team

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to multi-task and work effectively with senior management in a fast paced environment to meet deadlines under pressure

  • Strong analytical skills, control mind-set (ability to identify and close control gaps and / or issues)

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint and Excel) and Visio to create and deliver effective presentations
