External Party Reference Data Operations (EPRD) is a utility enabling multiple lines of business across J.P. Morgan Chase to leverage consistent, high-quality party reference data. The team’s responsibilities include setting up, maintaining and off-boarding party reference data, as well as supporting targeted data quality remediation efforts. EPRD also supports the External Party Data Domain, which involves definitional and data model work.


EPRD Business Analysts (BAs) support the planning and execution of changes made to these party reference data, and partner closely with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of tactical and strategic change efforts. Responsibilities are:



Position Responsibilities


  • Generate and monitor global EPRD metrics reporting, providing trending analysis and reviewing quality control breaks and other KPIs

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve aged items on metrics, implementing resolutions and coordinating corrective actions with Core Operations

  • Provide oversight of data quality exceptions, outlining remediation process controls and engagements and ensuring tracking and timely closure by Core Operations

  • Perform data analysis of reference data populations identified for remediation scoping, including defining operational procedures for Core Operations

  • Provide capacity modeling and forecasting for new business initiatives; identifying synergies, bottlenecks, and introducing operational efficiencies

  • Develop and deliver robust, dynamic, global scorecards

  • Create and maintain SharePoint sites for EPRD, as well as assist in the development and testing of internal work-flow tools

  • Provide specific, detailed weekly active feedback and updates to Ops Management Team

  • Responsible for maintaining User Tool Inventory

  • Actively participate in projects and meetings

  • Interact closely with global team members and product stakeholders

  • College degree and Financial Services Industry experience as Operations Manager
  • Robust data analytical skills; demonstrated attention to detail
  • Experience in generating metrics, standing up new reporting dashboards as well as bespoke presentations for senior management
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Power Point, Visio, SharePoint)
  • Experience with SQL
  • Strong client focus and relationship-building skills across lines of business and levels
  • Knowledge of, experience with, and ability to apply process improvement and process control concepts
  • Able to communicate effectively to all levels of staff and management, and influence and support decisions
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to recognize and appropriately escalate issues and discrepancies
  • Ability to create and foster cross-LOB partnerships
  • Strong influence and negotiation skills to drive process control, changes, and provide supporting rationale
