Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business (LOB) to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution, and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The objective of GTI is to balance both business alignment and the centralized delivery of core products and services. GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm.
 
Responsibilities
 
GTI Service Operations (SO) is responsible for service support and delivery for JPMorgan Chase's (JPMC) Global Technology Infrastructure. Through its Global Service Desk and Infrastructure Operations Centers, Global Service Operations (GSO) provides global, coordinated diagnostic and support services, while Production Assurance and Support functions leverage and execute industry leading infrastructure management and support processes that are designed to minimize customer outages and impacts. Primary responsibilities include building, monitoring and maintaining Exadata / engineered systems  and databases as well as providing performance diagnostic expertise, best practice reviews and troubleshooting production issues, both at the database and operating system levels. In this position, candidates will be resolving complex issues involving database performance, database capacity, replication, and other key aspects of distributed database technology. The most successful candidates will combine extremely deep, low-level database systems management capabilities with native coding/scripting skills to contribute to initiatives that reduce operational effort through infrastructure software development. The role requires staff to have on-call availability to respond to major database incidents
 
 
Job description
 
  • Exceptional experience administering various multi-Terabyte, 24x7 uptime Oracle databases as a Systems/Infrastructure Database Administrator required
  • Strong experience working with Oracle versions 11gR1/2, 12c in a Linux environment required
  • Experience with Exadata and / or Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance is a plus
  • Strong, proven Oracle Database Performance Diagnostic skills (at both the SQL and system levels) required
  • Strong programming experience in PL/SQL and UNIX Shell Scripting and Python required
  • Experience with features such as Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Active Data Guard , Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Golden Gate replication.
  • Extensive experience with Backup and Recovery using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN).
  • Experience with data encryption, data security, PCI and SOX audit / compliance preferred.
  • Self-starter capability, ability to acquire new skills autonomously.
  • Demonstrably solid written and verbal communication skills to drive projects to successful conclusion.

 

This position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience as Oracle Database Administrator. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience as Oracle Database Administrator or related occupation in lieu of a Master's degree plus three (3) years of experience. Oracle certifications preferred.
