Group Description:
The EMEA Capital Markets Legal Group is part of the EMEA CIB Legal Department in London and supports the  EMEA Structured Product Groups , the EMEA Debt and Equity Capital Markets and certain other business groups of the JPMorgan  Corporate Investment Bank in the legal structuring and execution of sophisticated securities transactions, including investment grade and sub-investment grade bond issues, hybrid capital,  covered bonds,  asset-backed securities, ABCP, infrastructure  and structured credit products generally. 
 
The candidate will be responsible for :
  • Managing a team of lawyers/paralegals 
  • Advising  senior management of the EMEA Structured Product Groups
  • Documenting, reviewing and executing  primarily a mixture of multi-asset, cross border, term and conduit securitizations, infrastructure transactions and other more vanilla debt capital markets products, working with marketers, clients , control groups and colleagues globally. 
Responsibilities: 
  • Managing a team of lawyers/paralegals 
  • Primarily  pro-actively support the business groups in London and other offices globally which originate  European/U.S. placed securitisation products , infrastructure transactions and capital markets debt products , through structuring and execution of transaction including review and negotiation  and  legal advice
  • Pro-actively support business groups, liaise with  other control areas and colleagues in Legal in setting/maintaining documentation standards, internal controls and policies, practice guidelines and monitoring relevant legal, regulatory and documentation developments
  • Pro-actively sharing experience and know-how with colleagues in Legal, where appropriate globally. Provide training to the business and within Legal
  • Participation in  control committees 
  • Participation in Legal and Firm-wide projects
  • Participation in industry bodies
  • Managing Law Firm relationships
  • Managing team and broader legal budget matters

Essential Experience:
Must be able to demonstrate  extensive securitisation experience in a lead role at a premier UK or US law firm or alternatively an in-house legal team as well as management experience leading a team .
 
Education/Qualifications:
  • Qualified lawyer - including  extensive securitisation experience in a lead role  at a premier UK or US  law firm or alternatively an in-house legal team .
  • Must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction.  
Essential Languages:
  • English - fluent
  • Foreign languages –an advantage but not a necessity
