Wealth Management Operations Control & Governance Team – Business Management Officer (VP / Associate)
Wealth Management Operations supports the JPMorgan Private Bank in JP Morgan’s Asset Management line of business. The Private Bank is the world’s premier service provider for ultra and high net worth individuals. Our goal is to help these affluent individuals across the globe optimize their wealth, after taxes and across generations. Global Wealth Management Operations provides end-to-end support for all aspects of the client experience, working closely with client service, fiduciary, product specialty groups, third party vendors and other internal groups.
The Operations Control & Governance team sits within the business and acts as an independent body to test the controls of the organization, highlight the health of the organization and provide detective and preventative tools for the business to use to mitigate risk. The Business Management side of the team is responsible for managing communications-related responsibilities for WM Operations in coordination with the Asset and Welath Management Operations Business Management Team, including development of senior management presentations for periodic Business Reviews and Town Halls, publication of Accomplishments to the Asset Management Operating Committee as well as ownership of WM Operations Control Training and Awareness activities.
This individual will be also be tasked to manage small-medium scale initiatives that would not only be restricted to the Business Management scope, but might also branch to global Risk and MIS projects, providing a more holistic exposure to the overall Operations Risk team framework. The position requires direct coordination across all levels of management and so
-advanced communications competency is required. Success in this function requires a keen eye on detail, the ability to effectively manage through time-sensitive deliverables, strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to identify the need to escalate when appropriate.
Responsibilities (includes below but not limited to)
§ Assist in the oversight of the Weekly WM Ops Accomplishments process
§ Accountable for producing Senior Management presentations that satisfy strict quality requirements which include consistency, attention to detail and clear / concise content
§ Execute small-medium scale initiatives, involving cross-business and cross-regional coordination, including ad-hoc requests from senior management
§ Design and implement the Control Training & Awareness agenda
§ Partner with other Operations Control & Governance team mebers to identify and implement best practices
§ Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, including dispute resolution
§ Detail oriented and committed to consistent quality
§ Excellent time and project management skills
§ Effective in a team setting but is also a self-starter
§ Excellent computer skills: MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access)
§ Highly creative
§ Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
§ Highly motivated and is also a good motivator
§ Able to operate with minimal oversight
§ Can quickly adapt to work flow variation and change
§ Forward-looking and creative thinker
§ Ops 99 or equivalent (if none, will need to address this requirement within 120 days of starting the role)
§ Demonstrated proficiency in developing and delivering presentations
§ Experienced in business management, risk management or operational roles with coordination responsibilities across a diverse set of stakeholders
§ Qualified in managing communications-related responsibilities
§ Proven effective project manager
§ Capable of direct interface with Senior Management / Senior Leadership
§ Able to simultaneously address multiple requirements and tasks
§ Experienced with managing direct reports
A.S. / B.S. Degree or equivalent work experience; Masters Degree is preferred
Business, Finance or a Communications background is also preferred
