Head of Healthcare Payments

Req #: 180035939
Location: New York, NY, US
Job Category: Product Management
Job Description:

JP Morgan is a leader in both wholesale and consumer payments, as well as a leading player in healthcare across all industry segments and client bases. We want to be at the forefront of the recent and upcoming industry changes that intersect healthcare, technology and financial services, as well believe there will be exciting opportunities ahead where we can expand our existing healthcare business and become a cutting edge leader in terms of product offering and share. To do this, we want to have a dedicated person – and team – that leads the effort and creates and drives this objective to realization. JP Morgan is the best placed to realize this vision because we are the only company that has the scaled infrastructure, that benefits from the level of quality assets that you get when you are on a global scale – not just national – even though this is US role.

The role will have a focus on wholesale customers (hospitals, insurers) but with an increasing consumer orientation (e.g. consumer payments to business customers); it will sit in the investment bank but will have broad reach across the organization.

The person will be responsible for formulating the strategy, and leading the commercial execution of, healthcare payments for the US market across the firm. This would mean setting priorities for the development and sourcing products for the various client bases (providers – hospitals and doctors; insurance) as well as threading the products through the various client channels in coordination with the respective sales organizations.

  • Minimum of 15 years professional work experience in Financial Services, Healthcare or Financial Technology arenas

  • Ideally both strong healthcare (wholesale) and payments expertise but at least deep in one and some level of experience with the other

  • Financial services experience a plus but not necessary

  • Strong skills in operations/execution but also have a flair for strategy

  • Strong leadership qualities, such as teambuilding and working effectively across a large, matrix organization and influencing change and action against a strategy

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in Finance, MBA or Healthcare Administration is preferred

  • Highest level of integrity and good judgment

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Flexibility for regular travel
