Job Description:

Chase Paymentech is looking for self-motivated, passionate hands on Software Engineering Manager join their Stratus/VOS Front-End development team. This team is responsible for the payment transaction processing technology behind some of the world's largest retailers. Your proven leadership and technical skills will be tested in a high stakes environment against some of the biggest challenges in the software development of payment processing applications.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will work with business and IT leadership to understand IT business strategy and their implication to application(s) under responsibility. You will be accountable to Business and Technology Management for end to end application scoping, planning, development, implementation and post-implementation maintenance and support. You will prioritize and manage development and implementation of enhancements/changes; oversee installations and Release Management including the final production acceptance review and signoff; manage the issue resolution process for any application production problems; and oversee Operations Monitoring and Capacity Management. You will also oversee formal performance testing process; help manage the relationship with internal and external services vendors to ensure superior service delivery for all application core technologies; work with Application Developers and Business Managers to define and monitor Service Level Agreement's and negotiate appropriate support commitments for existing products.

This position will lead a team of 5-7 software engineers and is responsible for recruiting, performance management, employee development and coaching, training and staff readiness.

Basic Qualifications:
B.S. in Computer Science

Experience requirements
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience managing a software development team (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5+ years lead development experience  in a C programming environment
  • Minimum of 5+ years lead development experience in a transaction processing application (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience and competency with the Stratus/VOS platform/OS
  • Must possess 3-5 years experience in payment processing industry (required)

  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems simply, not always through technology
