Audit Department Description

JPMC’s Audit Department, which is comprised of over 1,200 auditors globally, reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and is further accountable to the Chairman and CEO, senior management and regulatory agencies. Audit is an independent risk assessment function established within the organization to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management’s system of internal control.

 

Team Description

Audit Professional Practices is responsible for supporting the Audit Department by maintaining and enhancing programs and processes that promote a standard of excellence and assist auditors in their day-to-day responsibilities. This includes managing the Audit Department’s core business processes, including audit policy/methodology and supporting tools, quality assurance, internal and external reporting, department technology infrastructure, training and campus recruiting. Additionally, Professional Practices is responsible for creating processes to ensure significant regulatory issues regarding Audit are identified and addressed appropriately.

 

Position Description

The Research & Analysis team supports the department and organization by providing insights related to various Firm metrics and business results including audit findings, management-identified issues, regulatory matters, and other external sources. The objective is to identify thematic control observations and emerging risks which may warrant further action by the firm and provide assessments and meaning to reports utilized by the Firm’s Audit Committee, regulators, and business control committees

·         Able to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiating skills

 

Responsibilities

·         Independently perform analysis across various topics including identification of thematic control observations and applicability assessments

·         Manage execution of innovation projects, including enhanced identification of thematic risk and control issues, and improvement of department metrics, processes and practices

·         Review findings of firmwide issues and engagement with key stakeholders on varying topics to drive cross-business insights that impact audit coverage model and disposition of thematic control observations

·         Prototype and deliver innovative reports and dashboards to deliver value and insight to stakeholders

 

 

 

·         Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business discipline

·         Minimum 7 years of experience in a financial services organization, consulting firm, or related industry

·         Minimum 2 years of experience in a reporting or analytics role preferred 

High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and functional experience using analytical tools (e.g. QlikView, Tableau)
