The Financial Analysis group within the CFO organization is responsible for partnering across the firm to provide financial and strategic analysis of actuals performance, the coordination of forecasting execution and analysis, macroeconomic scenario design and distribution, and the development of strategic infrastructure programs including the Firmwide Forecasting Framework (F3), Robotics and Dashboards.
Estimations Design & Analysis (EDA), an organization under the Financial Analysis group, partners with LOB and Corporate teams to manage through the lifecycle of estimation identification and development, requirements definition for automation, and integration with F3
Estimations Design & Analysis (EDA) partners with Line of Business and Corporate teams to analyze estimation methodologies used across the firm and to support the end-to-end life-cycle of estimation method design, build and integration with F3.
In this role, the person will oversee a small team to drive projects to enhance estimation method design by developing model estimation approaches or by developing more advanced non-model estimation approaches. The person will analyze existing technical documentation, gain access to estimation input data and assumptions, and experiment to create statistical/mathematical models or non-model approaches. The person will also be responsible for creating documentation supporting any newly created approaches and for preparing for independent reviews. This position provides a rare opportunity for motivated candidates to learn about forecasting methodologies across various LOBs and products and understand the end-to-end process from estimation design to implementation.
The position involves interaction with many teams across the firm including LOBs and Corporate finance functions, model development, and technology & operations. The ability to work efficiently and communicate effectively across these boundaries will be one of the keys to success.
Advanced Degree in Statistics, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or related field is required
5+ years work experience in statistical modeling, quantitative research, financial analysis, risk management, or related field
Experience with driving projects and leading small teams in the development of models
Extensive ability to apply mathematical and statistical techniques in the development of models
Significant experience performing large dataset quality checks and analytics using Python, R, and SAS programming skills
Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail
Must have knowledge of banking products and services
Candidate must be a self-starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment
Good organizational, written and communication skills
Experience partnering with business and technology to drive strategic projects
