This position is responsible for driving employee financial advisor results by providing frontline leadership, development and coaching to advisor staff. The Assistant Regional Director indirectly influences client interactions through coaching and monitoring of financial advisor sales activities. This role also includes direct interaction with clients through building relationships during escalated and/or complex situations. 
 
 Responsibilities include:
  • Demonstrate critical skills of a leader including setting expectations, developing, coaching and motivating a team. This includes holding administration duties, compliance oversight, ensuring brand standards, client service and satisfaction are met.
  • Drive skill development through a combination of 1:1 and team driven activities in alignment with firm objectives.
  • Share vision and lead a team of financial advisors to meet or exceed sales results, while best serving the needs of our clients within the client relationship model. Includes managing all aspects of performance management and development of improvement plans.
  • Partner with Advisors to resolve escalated client needs, and assist with advanced client case work.
  • Drive new client acquisition through the coaching and motivation of team to engage referrals, personal and professional networks, centers of influence, etc. to generate prospects.
  • Participate in the recruiting and selection process for financial advisors including interviewing and partnering closely with talent acquisition.
  • Takes an active role to ensure that there is a positive and supportive environment for all advisors and staff.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Regional Director in directing and leading the branch to acquire and drive business opportunities in the local market.
  • Assists the Regional Director to build a strong sales and service team that can drive revenue opportunities while insuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Develop local efforts and implement national initiatives to grow business through in-branch customer contact, seminars, lead utilization, and local marketing.
  • Assist with the management of operational activities, including full supervision of local risk and compliance issues if a Supervisory Manager is not in place.
  • Over time, will be responsible for managing a group of representatives and provide assistance with regard to training, developing, counselling, and motivating branch staff.
  • Lead or assist with regional and/or corporate initiatives.
  • Act as the interface with difficult clients who need to be guided to the management level.
  • Assist with the measurement of service levels to determine staffing needs.

Skills and Knowledge

  • +5 years of management experience within the financial services industry as a sales practice leader and/or assistant branch/regional manager
  • Series 7 and 66 or 63/65 required
  • Series 9/10 required within 60 days of hire (condition of employment)
  • Strong financial market product knowledge including but not limited to: equities, fixed-income, banking and lending, alternative investments and wealth planning
  • Experience in recruiting and executing transitions of financial advisors is a plus
  • Proven time-management skills
  • Strong integrity and judgment skills
  • Proven management and coaching skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
