Job Description:
The Associate Event Planner will assist in all aspects of client event activities, from concept to execution, for the Latin America region at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. The planner will be Miami based in order to support our local business and drive Miami-based Latin America event initiatives. The events team strives to deliver a consistent and distinctive client experience underscoring our business strategies and upholding the J.P. Morgan brand. The job requires interaction with business leaders and senior management in multiple locations and frequent collaboration with events colleagues on the US and global teams and the Latin America marketing team. A high pressured position, which demands strong communication skills, accuracy, long hours and international travel. Data management is an equal part of overall responsibilities. The role reports to Head of Latin America and GFG Private Bank Events (based in New York).
Responsibilities include:
  • Manage and support events for the Latin America and GFG business, including XLOB opportunities, with an understanding of the compliance responsibilities for the region
  • Collaboration with US events team in Miami
  • Partnership with marketing team
  • Help with data management, cross border processes and post-event sign off
  • Participation / representation in key meetings
Skills required:
  • A minimum of three years’ prior experience in event management related activities 
  • Strategic thinker; able to identify issues and find a reasonable solution
  • Able to manage to a budget and negotiate with vendors
  • Extremely  detail oriented
  • Able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • Capable of handling difficult or demanding personalities
  • Positive attitude, team player and able to work without too much guidance
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese
  • Knowledge of the Latin America region
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Ability to analyze data: see trends, find mistakes, consolidate data, create reports
  • Ability to work late hours and travel
  • Financial services experience is a plus
