The Business Solutions Director is a partner and advisor to our product and sales teams responsible for articulating clear and concise business solutions definitions in the context of industry trends and Chase Merchant Services current infrastructure and strategy. The goal of this position is to drive the upfront analysis of projects, determine the capability value for the customer, ensuring the architectural solution fits short / medium / long term sustainability. The Business Solutions team works closely with subject matter experts in product, technology, and operations to gather, analyze and document business needs, while ensuring adherence to project delivery timelines. A key objective of this role is to evolve CMS' approach to articulate new project and kick off new initiatives. This role is in charge of analyzing all new requests and Strategic Priority Assessment as well as responsible of ensuring projects are sized, prioritized, documented requirements, staffed and committed into the book of work.


The main objective of this position is to improve the performance and delivery of key projects in the organization by also leading x functional teams and overall project design, plan and drive requirements. This position needs to ensure that our teams increase collaboration, innovation, and introducing techniques that promote adaptability and flexibility in the face of unpredictable circumstances. The Business Solutions Director will lead the organization to improve the performance of the strategic initiatives by implementing an agile methodology and driving organizational change.


This role will provide the opportunity to work directly with senior management and on projects at the forefront of the payments industry.  It is also a great opportunity to learn about all of the key initiatives happening across the LOB. Projects will include heavy interaction and collaboration with client and functional teams.

-Leading the transformation of the Planning, Demand Management and Project Execution of a 100MM book of work into an agile practice

-Engaging with sales, products, IT, Presidents, control areas and clients to better understand capabilities to be delivered

-Developing a clear architectural solution that ensures the shortest way to deliver to customers, sustainability and value effectiveness

- Ensuring projects drive value to customers and Chase Merchant Services in a short / medium and long term

- Implementing Agile Methodology. This task entails implementing Agile process, principles and practices across all levels and departments in an organization. As an Agile leader must use techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation.

-Guiding decisions towards sizing, prioritizing and resource managing to have a successful implementation

-Creating new decision tool to improve prioritization based on value and complexity as well as improving tools to plan resource planning and management

-Crafting foundational process to constantly improve project quality and shortening time from idea to delivery

-Documenting correctly each project through Business Requirements or Epics and User stories

-Implementing information tools to analyze variability levers on projects and Senior reporting

-Developing crisp and concise presentations for senior management

-Promoting clarity and alignment across leadership and functional teams, including cross-LOB and JPMC-wide groups and Merchant Services leadership
Linking strategy to execution by pushing for clear objectives, timelines and metrics

-Identify and remove barriers to execution, communicating project updates clearly and transparently

-Developing processes to ensure end-to-end traceability

-Designing and implementing CCB best practices, guidelines and ensure repeatable processes

-Developing talent


·         Experience in the payments industry a plus

·         Agile Methodology experience required

·         10 yrs + of professional experience, with demonstrated success in the payments industry related to Business Planning, Business Architecture, Business analysis or Business Solutions

·         An outstanding ability to apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written).

·         Ability to interact, influence and persuade across a variety of business leaders

·         Proven organizational and multi-tasking ability and ease working within tight deadlines while maintaining a calm, professional personable demeanor

·         Demonstrated ability attract, motivate and lead talented professionals to deliver outstanding results;  success leading and influencing cross-functional teams

·         Strong leadership skills with proven ability to influence change and communicate with diverse stakeholders

·         Excellent relationship and communication skills, highly collaborative - can build rapport and credibility

·         Demonstrated bias for action, creative problem-solving, and achieving fulfillment by "creating order out of chaos"

·         Strong, proactive communication skills and executive presentation skills
