Firmwide Risk Control Management
The Risk Control Management Group’s primary function is to instill an effective risk and control framework to identify and remediate control issues, with a sense of urgency, regardless of the source. 
 
The Team partners with other control disciplines, e.g., Compliance, Risk and Audit, among others and works in partnership on the development of new, and existing control functions and protocols and provides a centralized view of and from all control functions, assisting in immediate, real time problem detection and escalation.  This process enables the firm to engage the appropriate teams in a timely manner, and provide the ability to quickly remediate critical control issues across the impacted areas of the firm.  While ultimate responsibility for the effectiveness of the control environment rests with the LOB CEOs and the Functional Leaders, the Risk Control Management Group will work closely with the Lines of Business, Legal, Compliance and Technology and other groups across the Firm. The team closely tracks identified issues and facilitates their remediation.
 
RCMG has team members across four regions, the US, EMEA, Latin America, and Asia Pacific, bringing a global perspective and coordinated approach to control management.
Firmwide Risk Control Management Program team
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Control Manager teams in all aspects of risk and control management
  • Maintain and enhance the reporting of risk and control related issues and events.
  • Support the creation of important and sensitive reports for the senior management, control committees and forums, the Board and regulators.
  • Manage the RCSA program for the LOB Risk teams, facilitating adherence to the Corporate Standards timelines for  deliverables are met
  • Evaluate and analyze open issues and action plans to enable transparency of progress being made towards expected completion dates.
  • Assist the Risk Control Management group on specific cross functional initiatives and projects.
 
Requirements
  • Control mindset and knowledge of maintaining effective control environments.

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) and appropriately to the audience, particularly senior management.
  • Team player; ability to successfully partner with colleagues across regions and/or divisions.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to exercise sound and balanced judgment

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in related field
  • 1+ years of experience in financial services or related field
  • Previous experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Surveillance, Internal/External Audit or other control function desired.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to aggregate and interpret data.
  • Strong technical skills with past experience manipulating data and working with large sets of information.
  • Strong business judgment and excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to gain consensus among staff and drive initiatives to completion effectively
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure with commitment to deliver under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Basic knowledge of securities markets, risk management practices, and regulations desired.
  • Strong MS Office skills required, particularly MS Excel (Excel Macros/ VBA big plus)
